Frequently Asked Questions And Additional Information About
Certified Document Translation
A word-for-word human translation of documents delivered on our translating partners letterhead including a signed and stamped Certificate of Translation Accuracy for official use as required by U.S. Immigration (USCIS), universities, courts, and many local, state, and federal governments.
We do, indeed, offer notarization as an option on all certified translations for an additional fee. Each Certificate of Translation Accuracy in your order will be notarized for the single per-order fee. Notarization includes a signature from a representative of the translation sector of our company and a Remote Online Notary Public with their commission number and commission expiration date. Customers are also welcome to request personal documents for Remote Online Notarization from our parent company.
The notarization is valid in all 50 states.
We have documents notarized in batches twice a day Monday - Friday. Once your translation is approved it will be notarized in the next available batch.
We are fully capable of supplying you with Apostille Services once your translation is complete. However, that is a more in-depth conversation to be had as Apostilles are not always a simple process. If you are seeing an Apostille in your order, we will stop the order process without charging your card to go over the Apostille process with you. This is to ensure that we are on the same page with you about your translation request and Apostille needs. Not all Apostilles are completed equally or same day. We will review your request, provide you an additional quote, and proceed with your order as quickly as possible.
Our team works very hard to ensure that you document translation process is simple, straightforward, and that we keep you involved in all of the steps involved ahead of time. Once we receive your order, we will begin the process of assigning your translator, reviewing the document for accuracy, and returning it to you. Our turnaround time is clearly posted on our order form and we will do our best to adhere to any deadlines you may be facing.
We only use 100% human translation carried out by professional translators. Our translators are based all over the world and typically have a minimum of 3 years of experience as professional translators. Many carry a variety of accreditations and certifications for this type of profession, but this varies per translator as there is no standard worldwide accreditation or certification for translators. All of our translators are native speakers.
Turnaround time for document translations depends on many factors including the word count, languages to and from, current demand, the translators schedule, and the complexity of the source document just to name a few. 1-3 page documents (up to 250 words) are often completed within 1-2 business days. Our expected turnaround times are posted clearly on our checkout form to ensure that you have a clear expectation of our services.
Please review the full list of our supported languages. If you require a language we do not have listed please contact us, we can likely still assist you.
Certified translations are delivered as a non-editable PDF file and include a signed and stamped English language Certificate of Translation Accuracy, which attests to the thoroughness and accuracy of the translation and the qualifications of the translator. In addition, our certified translations:
-
Are on translator's company letterhead containing the ATA member number, phone number, and address.
-
Include the order number and page number on each page.
-
Are formatted similar to, but not exactly like, the source document.
-
Are word-for-word translations of the source, which means some phrases might not be ideal, but we cannot interpret the meaning of a phrase, only provide an exact translation per certified translation standards.
-
Do not include a copy of your source files in the same PDF unless specifically requested.
